Latrobe High School has 33 teaching staff and caters for 466 students from Year 7 to Year 10. The school's address is Percival Street LATROBE 7307. Phone (03) 6426 1061. Schools receive an annual resource package for the purpose of providing educational programs for students throughout that year. Schools may also receive other funding from the Department as well as receiving income from other sources. Generally, like the resource package, these funds should be used in the year that they are received. However, in some circumstances, schools may need to carry funds over from one year to the next. A reasonable carry over is 25% of a school's annual resourcing package. As at January 31 2009, Latrobe High School has carried over the equivalent of 26% of its annual resourcing package. Most students live in areas such as Spreyton, Railton, Latrobe, Sassafras, Moriarty, Wesley Vale, East Devonport, Port Sorell, Hawley and Shearwater. The school offers a diverse learning program for students. Grade 7 and 8 students participate in a middle school curriculum with integrated learning central to this curriculum. Grade 9 and 10 students enjoy a wide range of choices in both the basics curriculum and in their personal interests. The school gives high priority to retention of students post-Grade 10, literacy and pedagogies.
