Glen Dhu Primary School has 22 teaching staff and caters for 297 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school's address is 270 Wellington Street SOUTH LAUNCESTON 7249. Phone (03) 6344 1349.

Schools receive an annual resource package for the purpose of providing educational programs for students throughout that year. Schools may also receive other funding from the Department as well as receiving income from other sources. Generally, like the resource package, these funds should be used in the year that they are received. However, in some circumstances, schools may need to carry funds over from one year to the next. A reasonable carry over is 25% of a school's annual resourcing package. As at January 31 2009, Glen Dhu Primary School has carried over the equivalent of 38% of its annual resourcing package. Schools also receive additional funding to help reduce early years class sizes. The average class size at Glen Dhu Primary School for groups containing Prep and Year 1 students is 23.

Information about Glen Dhu Primary School (provided by the school)
Glen Dhu Primary School in Launceston is a Kindergarten to Grade 6 school of approximately 300 students, situated close to the centre of town. Glen Dhu Primary has a long and proud tradition since there has been a school on this site since 1895. The original school building now houses our library, a classroom and support teacher's room. During 2007 a major redevelopment occurred in our primary classrooms and administrative area giving us facilities appropriate for learning in the 21st century. These classrooms have flexible spaces and easy access to the outdoors. Our grounds are large and are graced by a significant number of majestic European trees which provide natural shade. Our school has an enviable reputation in the community. We have a supportive environment underpinned by quality relationships. We aim to develop resilient, self directed learners who have the knowledge, skills and attitude to be their best. We hold high expectations of our students in regards to their learning, behaviour and personal presentation and these are reflected in the calm, purposeful atmosphere which characterises our school.
