Bracknell Primary School has 8 teaching staff and caters for 55 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school's address is 53 Jane Street BRACKNELL 7302. Phone (03) 6397 3288.

Schools receive an annual resource package for the purpose of providing educational programs for students throughout that year. Schools may also receive other funding from the Department as well as receiving income from other sources. Generally, like the resource package, these funds should be used in the year that they are received. However, in some circumstances, schools may need to carry funds over from one year to the next. A reasonable carry over is 25% of a school's annual resourcing package. As at January 31 2009, Bracknell Primary School has carried over the equivalent of 87% of its annual resourcing package. Schools also receive additional funding to help reduce early years class sizes. The average class size at Bracknell Primary School for groups containing Prep and Year 1 students is 19.

Information about Bracknell Primary School (provided by the school)
Bracknell Primary School is a small country school of approximately 55 students, some 25 minutes west of Launceston. We cater for children from 0 to 12 years of age, starting with our 'Little Possums' (0-4) program on Thursday afternoon, our pre-kindergarten program on Thursday morning in Term 3 and our school funds a 3 day Kindergarten Program all day Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. We also run a 3 day Active After-school Communities Program. The rest of our students are spread between 3 classes. At Bracknell, we have children from a whole range of backgrounds. Due to the small cohorts of students, our results can be skewed. E.g. One out of five or two out of eight can be interpreted as 20-25% of students as struggling but in reality, it is one or two students in a grade, not the whole school. Similarly, with only 38 families making up our school population, absentee figures can be affected by just one or two families. Rolling over 87% of our School Resource Package at the end of January 2009 is a misleading figure as the school had already received Commonwealth and State money for 2009 programs - something which is unlikely to occur again. Results need to be read carefully and the information digested slowly. Our focus at Bracknell is to develop Individual Learning Plans for each of our students. We test regularly and know precisely what our students have achieved and what work needs to be done to develop their potential further. We have a dedicated staff at Bracknell determined to make a difference to the lives of the Bracknell Primary School students.
