Beaconsfield Primary School has 19 teaching staff and caters for 255 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school's address is 33 Grubb Street BEACONSFIELD 7270. Phone (03) 6383 1215.

Schools receive an annual resource package for the purpose of providing educational programs for students throughout that year. Schools may also receive other funding from the Department as well as receiving income from other sources. Generally, like the resource package, these funds should be used in the year that they are received. However, in some circumstances, schools may need to carry funds over from one year to the next. A reasonable carry over is 25% of a school's annual resourcing package. As at January 31 2009, Beaconsfield Primary School has carried over the equivalent of 86% of its annual resourcing package. Schools also receive additional funding to help reduce early years class sizes. The average class size at Beaconsfield Primary School for groups containing Prep and Year 1 students is 22.

Information about Beaconsfield Primary School (provided by the school)
OUR SCHOOL & COMMUNITY: Beaconsfield Primary School serves a wide community encompassing the towns of Beaconsfield and Beauty Point and surrounding areas. The school is highly valued and supported by the community. This is fostered by the use of a joint school and community library, community use of school facilities and increasing opportunities for school participation in community events. We are an Australian National Schools Network school with an enrolment of just under 300 children from Kinder to Grade 6. Our school moto "Esse Quam Videri" literally translates from the Latin as: Being, Not Seeming To Be; in other words at Beaconsfield Primary we take pride in being 'Fair Dinkum'. THE FACILITIES: The original school was founded in 1883. In 1954 an area school was built which later became the Primary School. It is now a mix of old and new buildings that enjoys attractive and spacious grounds. A community library, solar heated, covered pool, art room and ICT Lab provide a variety of learning opportunities. The Beauty Point Kindergarten campus has been developed as an Early Learning Centre. Out of Hours Child Care is provided on site by Stepping Stones Children’s Services. The Beaconsfield Child and Family Centre, funded by the Federal Government, will be constructed within the school grounds in 2009 providing long day care for 0 to 4 year olds, out of hours care and community family services. TEACHING & LEARNING: The formation of teaching teams has facilitated co-operative planning, teacher learning and the development of the school as a learning community. The school is in its fourth year of involvement in the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program which is underpinned by our school expectations of “Be Safe, Be Fair, Learn and Care”. At Beaconsfield we aim to provide a learning program that meets the needs of the individual learner through our commitment to personalised learning. Flexible learning programs are a hallmark of how we cater for individual students' needs including a school and a community garden. Our school vision is to provide a safe and secure learning environment where each child is supported to develop their skills in Literacy, Numeracy and Social Responsibility and to achieve their full potential as lifelong learners. Our school rules or expectations dove-tail beautifully with our School-wide Positive Behaviour Support approach to modelling and teaching the values that we hold dear. During 2008 and now in 2009 the school has received funding through the Launching Into Learning project to provide support for parents and early learning opportunities for pre-school age children. A feature of this is the Li’l Diggers program which operates each Friday morning. ANNUAL RESOURCE PACKAGE: Although the school rolled over the equivalent of 86% of annual resource package at the end of 2008, actually only 14% of this was carried over from 2008 revenue with the remaining 72% representing an accumulated balance from previous years and including funds from a trust, established by a former school principal. Over the 2008/2009 summer holiday period we also had Interactive White Boards installed in all classrooms except Kinder with payment not being deducted from the 2008 revenue balance until February, 2009.
