Kingston High School has 48 teaching staff and caters for 612 students from Year 7 to Year 10. The school's address is Channel Highway KINGSTON TAS 7050. Phone (03) 6229 4388.

Schools receive an annual resource package for the purpose of providing educational programs for students throughout that year. Schools may also receive other funding from the Department as well as receiving income from other sources. Generally, like the resource package, these funds should be used in the year that they are received. However, in some circumstances, schools may need to carry funds over from one year to the next. A reasonable carry over is 25% of a school's annual resourcing package. As at January 31 2009, Kingston High School has carried over the equivalent of 41% of its annual resourcing package.

Information about Kingston High School (provided by the school)
Kingston High School is currently in the midst of major reform in preparation for our move to a new campus. All aspects of our operation have been considered, with deep changes being experienced by staff. Our beliefs and values have been challenged, reviewed and refocused under the expert guidance of Dr Julia Atkin. It is pleasing to note that the changes have had a beneficial effect on numeacy outcomes. We continue to make literacy a priority. The introduction of an automated message system for student absences is now used in all grades. We pride ourselves on our transition programs. The gains from years 5 - 7, demonstrate its effectiveness. We are concerned that parent satisfaction with reporting has declined as this is at odds with informal feedback. The index of student satisfaction is only marginally outside the intermediate' range. We will address thses issue in 2009. A new program, Project 17 Vocational was implemeted in 2009 for students with a pathway to the Tasmanian Polytechnic or Skills Institute. A complemenatry program, Project 17 Academic will provide extension and enrichment for high performing grade ten students with a pathway into The Tasmanian Academy in 2010.
