East Launceston Primary School has 35 teaching staff and caters for 530 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school's address is Cnr Abbott & Mary Streets EAST LAUNCESTON 7250. Phone (03) 6331 1233.

Schools receive an annual resource package for the purpose of providing educational programs for students throughout that year. Schools may also receive other funding from the Department as well as receiving income from other sources. Generally, like the resource package, these funds should be used in the year that they are received. However, in some circumstances, schools may need to carry funds over from one year to the next. A reasonable carry over is 25% of a school's annual resourcing package. As at January 31 2009, East Launceston Primary School has carried over the equivalent of 32% of its annual resourcing package. Schools also receive additional funding to help reduce early years class sizes. The average class size at East Launceston Primary School for groups containing Prep and Year 1 students is 24.

Information about East Launceston Primary School (provided by the school)
East Launceston Primary School is situated in the Eastern suburbs of Launceston. We currently have 536 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6. The school has recently undergone a 3 million dollar re-development which has provided us with first class facilities. These facilities support an excellent teaching and learning program. As a school we have developed and published a vision underpinned by a set of core of values. Our vision and values form the basis of all key resourcing and teaching and learning decisions. Supported by our vision, our key areas of focus are Literacy, Numeracy, Teaming and Positive Behaviour Support. These four areas involve on-going professional learning for staff, in order that we deliver to our students the best quality teaching. This will ensure quality outcomes for all our students. Our school celebrated its 100th birthday last year ( 2008) and our celebrations honoured our proud traditions and focussed us on a positive future.
