Cosgrove High School has 22 teaching staff and caters for 263 students from Year 7 to Year 10. The school's address is 286 - 294 Main Road GLENORCHY 7010. Phone (03) 6271 1111.

Schools receive an annual resource package for the purpose of providing educational programs for students throughout that year. Schools may also receive other funding from the Department as well as receiving income from other sources. Generally, like the resource package, these funds should be used in the year that they are received. However, in some circumstances, schools may need to carry funds over from one year to the next. A reasonable carry over is 25% of a school's annual resourcing package. As at January 31 2009, Cosgrove High School has carried over the equivalent of 29% of its annual resourcing package.

Cosgrove High was established in 1952 and has deep connections with the Glenorchy community. Cosgrove has 20 teachers who are either four or five year or more trained. It has a Middle School established for Grade seven and eight to manage the transition from Primary to High school and there is a variety of support programs for all grades. Over and above the standard curriculum offerings we do the following things. There is a well organised Peer Support program. Small groups work in the Community Garden and in the MDT area. Student leaders take part in feeder primary school programs. Organised lunchtime activities are available to all students. Students work with the Glenorchy Council’s youth program, Pulse. We also provide mentoring opportunities under the Artisans in Residence program. This includes craftsmen from the Wood Craft Guild operating from the MDT area and working with individual students . In addition there are a number of programs we provide with external assistance. We have a part time Youth Liaison Officer (YLO) who provides support to ensure all students progress to year 11. There is a Pathways officer working with us on the Pathways to further education , training or work program that involves all students. The school has an active School Association, a number of adult volunteers and strong links with the business community and student Government is strong.
