Dunalley Primary School has 10 teaching staff and caters for 114 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school's address is 20 Bay Street DUNALLEY 7177. Phone (03) 6253 5151.

Schools receive an annual resource package for the purpose of providing educational programs for students throughout that year. Schools may also receive other funding from the Department as well as receiving income from other sources. Generally, like the resource package, these funds should be used in the year that they are received. However, in some circumstances, schools may need to carry funds over from one year to the next. A reasonable carry over is 25% of a school's annual resourcing package. As at January 31 2009, Dunalley Primary School has carried over the equivalent of 33% of its annual resourcing package. Schools also receive additional funding to help reduce early years class sizes. The average class size at Dunalley Primary School for groups containing Prep and Year 1 students is 24.

Information about Dunalley Primary School (provided by the school)
Dunalley Primary School is situated in the heart of the Dunalley township and services families from a broad geographical area encompassing Eagle Hawk Neck, Murdunna, Marion Bay, Kellevie, Copping and Bream Creek. The school was established in 1885 and currently has an enrolment of 116 students representing 75 families. The school has a strong and proud tradition of academic and sporting achievement across all grade levels. The motto of “Striving for Excellence” underpins all we undertake. The school facilities are extensive and include a gymnasium, a cooking room, an art room, a computer lab, a drama room, five well resourced classrooms and a refurbished library. The grounds are expansive and very attractive and a new orchard is a recent addition. The teaching and learning program at Dunalley Primary is of the highest order with a central philosophy of “success for every child” driving our endeavours. Curriculum differentiation, learning support, flexible curriculum delivery and ongoing assessing of student needs ensure that each child is afforded every opportunity to experience success at school. We strongly support and encourage each senior student to take on a leadership role in our school and ensure that they develop skills to enable them to be effective leaders. The role of our school as a service provider for the broader community is demonstrated best through our Birth to Four programs which reach many families prior to their children starting school. These programs include music and motor skill programs, playgroup and early years literacy and numeracy programs. We value our partnerships with all members of the community and we welcome opportunities to work with the local community. Parents are encouraged to work with us in classrooms and we work closely with our local Neighbourhood House and with the Sorell Council.
