Schools receive an annual resource package for the purpose of providing educational programs for students throughout that year. Schools may also receive other funding from the Department as well as receiving income from other sources. Generally, like the resource package, these funds should be used in the year that they are received. However, in some circumstances, schools may need to carry funds over from one year to the next. A reasonable carry over is 25% of a school's annual resourcing package. As at January 31 2009, Cooee Primary School has carried over the equivalent of 29% of its annual resourcing package. Schools also receive additional funding to help reduce early years class sizes. The average class size at Cooee Primary School for groups containing Prep and Year 1 students is 24.

Information about Cooee Primary School (provided by the school)
The universal goals of “Caring”, “Positive” and “Safe” underpin our curriculum and practice at Cooee Primary School as we strive to equip our students to achieve in the 21st century. The school, established in 1915, is situated approximately 4 km from the central Burnie on the North West coast of Tasmania. Cooee Primary has joined the AuSSI (Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative) project, supporting the development of programs through which we can teach our students skills and understandings that will enable them to contribute in positive ways to their communities in the future. Birth to 3 years, Pre-Kindergarten and After Hours School Care programs are available.
